On August 18, 2020, the heat load test run of the titanium alloy small bar production line of Shaanxi Tiancheng Aviation Materials Co., Ltd., which was general contracted by MCC Jingcheng EPC, was successful, marking that MCC Jingcheng’s long products business successfully entered non-ferrous metals Rolling field. The production line adopts the continuous temperature-controlled rolling process of rolling instead of forging, which solves the problems of backward production process and unstable quality of titanium alloy bars, and is used in high-end fields such as aerospace, military, and medical.
The small stick production line put into production this time was constructed by MCC Jingcheng in EPC turnkey mode, which specifically includes factory design, process design, equipment supply, civil construction, equipment installation and commissioning. The product positioning of the small rod production line is mainly to produce high-quality titanium and titanium alloy rods, with specifications covering round rods from Φ10mm to Φ100mm. The products can meet the needs of high-end markets such as aerospace, military, and medical.
China Metallurgical Beijing Chengcheng proposed the process route of “transverse billet removal + continuous rolling + precision rolling”, so that the temperature, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, internal structure and mechanical properties of the rolled piece have been better controlled, ensuring production Technology advancement, flexibility and economic applicability. The small bar production line is equipped with a series of core equipment with independent intellectual property rights of MCC Jingcheng, including a horizontally movable billeting machine, a high-rigidity short-stress line rolling mill, a horizontally movable flying shear, and a walking cooling bed. It is particularly worth mentioning that the billeting machine used in the small rod production line is the first domestic BDM-M650 horizontally moving billeting unit independently developed by MCC Credit Suisse Long Products. The billeting machine has the functions of automatic centering and rolling line of each pass, automatic adjustment of roll gap, automatic turning and feeding of steel, etc. It has realized the transformation from the manual operation of the fixed billeting machine to the fully automatic control of the horizontally movable billeting machine, and has opened up a new mode of production of titanium alloy, high-quality special steel and small products.
The electric drive and automatic control system of the entire production line are designed and supplied by Beijing Jingcheng Ruida Electrical Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of MCC Jingcheng. The main drive of the rolling line adopts the 6RA80 DC drive of SIEMENS, which meets the requirements of high dynamic and high precision speed regulation. The rolling line auxiliary drive adopts the modular HCE880 AC variable frequency drive device developed by Jingcheng Ruida. The device integrates many advantages such as small size, strong functions, flexible configuration, convenient maintenance, and few spare parts, and meets the requirements of reliability, stability and continuous operation. The basic automation control system takes the programmable controller PLC as the core. The PLC adopts SIEMENS S7 series products and adopts PROFIBUS-DP network communication. The control software adopts a standardized, modular, and parameterized design, with rich control functions, sophisticated control algorithms, and reliable functional modules, which greatly shortens the debugging and maintenance time. With the entire production line complicated in process routes and a large proportion of the first set of equipment, the MCC Jingcheng team and Tiancheng project team completed all the heat load test runs in just 7 days.
