Steel Forge Plant Implements Multiple Measures to Save Energy and Reduce Consumption, Boosting Cost Reduction and Efficiency for Our Company
Energy conservation and consumption reduction are powerful measures to promote enterprise development and enhance economic benefits. Dongte Corporation’s steel forge plant has consistently prioritized energy conservation, consumption reduction, and production cost reduction as key aspects of our efforts to enhance cost-effectiveness. This approach ensures the sustainability, long-term effectiveness, and continuity of our energy-saving management efforts. Recently, the plant has taken comprehensive measures to strengthen energy conservation and consumption reduction through various strategies.
- Scientific Production Organization, Increased Efficiency, and Reduced Energy Consumption
By focusing on key control points for cost reduction and efficiency improvement, the plant has optimized production organization in line with the factory’s production rhythm to achieve efficient operations. On one hand, meticulous planning includes refining the start and stop times for each furnace, as well as the forging machine, optimizing joint operations between main units, and ensuring two main units are operational during each shift to enhance production efficiency. On the other hand, precision timing is applied to production, focusing on the seamless connection of loading and unloading on the main units to accelerate production pace. Additionally, efforts are made to minimize production anomalies, reduce equipment startup and waiting times, and prioritize low-energy-consuming equipment for production planning. Equipment such as the 80MN fast forging press is only used when necessary, and electric furnaces 1-3# are started to reduce energy consumption.
- Optimization of Production Processes, Adjustment of Product Mix, and Improved Energy Utilization Efficiency
Through gradual optimization of forging processes and production flows, the plant reduces the operational time of main units and decreases energy consumption. Continuous refinement of operating methods and improved heat treatment processes are carried out on the forging site. For stainless steel varieties such as DL166, DL166H, as well as H13, 42CrMoA, 40Cr, etc., the annealing production process is optimized. Further optimization of the product mix is achieved through reasonable production combinations, increasing furnace utilization, and effectively utilizing heating furnaces and three main units to enhance energy utilization efficiency.
- Energy Consumption Index Competition and Ongoing Monitoring of Cost Reduction and Consumption Reduction Projects
By fostering learning through competition, education, and practical application, the plant conducts energy consumption index competitions to stimulate proactive and creative efforts among all staff to find energy-saving methods. This approach promotes a new level of energy management across the factory. The competition benchmarks the indicators against the best levels achieved throughout the year and historical best levels, while also considering cost reduction and consumption reduction projects. By thoroughly investigating and addressing the root causes of underperformance, corrective measures are developed to effectively advance cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Upholding Cultural Development and Actively Cultivating an Atmosphere of Energy Conservation and Low Carbon
The steel forge plant emphasizes the promotion of energy conservation and consumption reduction, actively fostering a culture of frugality, and continuously deepening efforts in this regard. In July, taking advantage of the National Energy Conservation Promotion Week and Low Carbon Day activities in 2023, comprehensive energy conservation and low-carbon education for all staff are further enhanced. Utilizing various forms of communication such as WeChat, bulletin boards, and pre-shift meetings, advanced experiences in reducing energy consumption, controlling indicators, and optimizing processes from various departments and work groups are shared. This effectively promotes the implementation of advanced energy-saving practices, creating a strong atmosphere of energy conservation and consumption reduction among all staff.
Energy conservation and consumption reduction begin from within, starting with small actions, and beginning now. In the next phase, the steel forge plant will intensify management efforts in energy conservation and consumption reduction, stimulate “new momentum” for these endeavors, encourage employees to innovate and break new ground, and strive for further achievements in enterprise cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and operational excellence.
