Description
high speed tool steel with high cobalt, produced by gas atomization, hot isostatic pressing and plastic deformation.
Very high resistance to wear and to softening.
High compression strength.
Deep hardening response and much better toughness than conventional high speed tool steel.
Very good dimensional stability at hardening.
Applications
End mills, milling cutters, broach needles, cutting and punching, tools, dies, working rolls for cluster rolling stand.
Physical properties (average values) at ambient temperature
Density [g/cm3]: 8.08
Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 650oC, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
