On October 1, XCMG XGL1800 wind turbine tower crane, made of S690 forged round steel, was used to lift a 3.0 MW wind turbine to a height of over 140m in a soft geological environment with strong winds of up to grade 6 in the Yulin Dapu Rabbit Wind Farm in the Mao Wusu Desert on the border of Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi Province.
This wind turbine tower crane, which has the largest lifting capacity in China, can fully cover the lifting of wind turbines of 5MW and below, with efficient lifting, convenient dismantling, fast transit and lower cost, and can install and maintain wind turbines with a maximum height of 160m above the ultra-high impeller, making it the most comprehensive and optimal wind turbine lifting special equipment on the market. One of the keys to this “Big Mac” being able to show its strength is the use of S690 forged round steel produced by the Chinese company.
In order to meet the customer’s demand for high-strength steel for high-end equipment, the company has successfully developed a special forging material with yield strength of 690 MPa through joint development with universities and colleges and third-party inspection, and the mechanical performance testing and material testing are in strict accordance with the technical standards provided by the customer, so that XCMG XGL1800 wind jib tower can be successfully developed and put into production on time.
