They have extremely high requirements for low-temperature impact toughness and strength, and due to complex chemical composition, there are too many influencing factors in rolling, water cooling and quenching and tempering processes. The shape and performance control are difficult, especially for the high-strength steel with the ultimate thickness. If the compression ratio is too small, the uniformity of the overall performance of the steel plate is difficult to guarantee, and the production is difficult.
Previously, the thickness of the successfully tested Q550D finished product reached a maximum of 100 mm. The 110 mm thickness of the order was beyond the theoretical design limit of the line. In this regard, the factory has specially set up a special thick and high-strength steel trial production team. After several trials and groping and composition process adjustments, the breakthrough of the blank compression ratio is too small, ensuring the uniformity of the overall performance of the steel plate.
The successful trial production of the 110 mm thick high-strength steel further verified the strong control ability of the extreme specification rolling technology, and also provided support for the company to build a high value-added, diversified and series of high-strength steel boutique combinations.
