What is Ceramic Mould?
A ceramic and pottery mould is a specialized tooling designed for shaping clay and ceramic materials into precise forms before firing. These moulds are engineered to accommodate the unique characteristics of ceramic materials, including their plasticity when wet, shrinkage during drying, and final dimensional changes during firing. Unlike metal or plastic moulds, ceramic moulds must manage moisture content and allow for proper drying while maintaining the desired shape and surface detail of the ceramic products.
The primary function of ceramic and pottery moulds is to form raw ceramic materials into various products such as tableware, sanitaryware, technical ceramics, and decorative items. These moulds often utilize different forming methods including slip casting, plastic forming, and pressing.
