AISI 3415 AMS6260E 655H13 15NiCr13 1.5752 Case Hardening Steel
1. 15NiCr13 Description
15NiCr13 is a remelted nickel chrome molybdenum case hardening steel produced by the PESR* (Pressurised ESR) method designed for components with high demand in toughness and core strength. 15NiCr13 is a remelted nickel chrome molybdenum case hardening steel designed for components with high demand in toughness and core strength. Compared with 15Cr and 15Cr steel, 15NiCr13 has high strength, plasticity, and hardenability. 15NiCr13 is mainly used to make high load under heavy load conditions.
2. 15NiCr13 Application
Highly stressed components in automotive construction, and for general engineering purposes, e. g. gears, crankshafts, gearshafts.
It is characterized by high strength and at the same time high plasticity of the core due to the high content of nickel in the chemical composition. Used, among others, as a steel for aviation, it is dedicated for use in parts of aircraft engines and for components of aviation equipment.
Equally often used for responsible parts of machinery and structures working with variable loads requiring abrasion resistance. 15NiCr13 grade is used as steel for gears and for control shafts, adjusting screws, axles, and rollers.
3.Advantages
Good machinability (hobbing and turning).
Good dimensional stability.
Homogenous PESR structure suitable for the production of large components.
Improved polishability, photo-etchability and EDM due to higher purity.
Suitable for single and double hardening.
