After 30 years of development, China has become a major mold manufacturing and consumption country in the world, and has established a mold manufacturing system. In 2017, mold sales reached 200 billion yuan, showing steady development and optimization and upgrading. According to reports, China’s molds already have the capability of bulk export. While basically satisfying China’s manufacturing needs for molds, it is also a major supplier of international mold market. According to customs statistics, in the year of 2017, the total export volume of molds in China was US$5.49 billion, and the export destination countries (or regions) reached 201. The total amount of mold imports was 2.051 billion US dollars, a slight increase of 2.43% over the previous year.
Nowadays, the pace of mold innovation and technological progress has been accelerated. New technologies, new materials, and new formation have led to new mold structures and new products, and the driving characteristics of technological innovation have become apparent. The mold industry innovation has shifted from tracking to tracking and running. A group of companies have entered the international manufacturing first square. Refinement, automation, information, integration, networking, and intelligence accelerate the improvement of the quality, efficiency, and optimization of the industry. Mold productswill continue to develop in the direction of large-scale, precision, high-performance, and integration.
Mold manufacturing puts new requirements on its own and equipment applications. Through the evaluation of equipment utilization, artificial interference evaluation, collaborative evaluation, and product quality evaluation, mold processing is moving toward high precision and high efficiency. In the aspect of mold manufacturing, the company pursued the modularization, standardized technical specifications and process management of non-standard products, and strived to realize precise control, intelligent monitoring, stable production and quality measurement.
Mould enterprises have proposed the application-level index requirements for mold manufacturing equipment, namely: (1) to improve equipment utilization, man-machine ratio optimization step by step; (2) benchmark, knowledge base management, parts, modular manufacturing; (3) Processing unit automation; (4) A large number of special equipments are put into mold making, such as multi-axis multi-path intelligent special equipment; (5) Implementation of manufacturing process control and result management.
Finally, Qin Hao said that the China Model Association is promoting “detailed tooling for mold making” and will fully utilize the role of professional committees to lead the industry in improving manufacturing levels.
