5CrW2Si Application
5CrW2Si steel is used for manufacturing blades for cold shearing metal, shovels for scraping wire boards, dies for cold punching and trimming, woodworking tools for periodic operations, as well as hand or pneumatic chisels, air hammer tools, boiler tools, die holders and punches, shears (heavy vibration), cutters (heavy vibration), concrete breakers, etc.

– Carbon (C): 0.45–0.55
– Silicon (Si): 0.50–0.80
– Manganese (Mn): ≤0.40
– Sulfur (S): ≤0.030
– Phosphorus (P): ≤0.030
– Chromium (Cr): 1.00–1.30
– Nickel (Ni): Residual content ≤0.25
– Copper (Cu): Residual content ≤0.30
– Tungsten (W): 2.00–2.50
5CrW2Si Physical Properties
Mechanical Properties:
– Hardness: Annealed 255–207 HB, indentation diameter 3.8–4.2mm; Quenched ≥55 HRC
Heat Treatment Specification:
– Sample quenching temperature: 860–900°C, oil cooling.
5CrW2Si Delivery Condition:
– Steel is delivered in the annealed state.
5CrW2Si Heat Treatment Specification
High-temperature annealing specification:
– Annealing temperature: 710–740°C, after homogenization, insulation for 3-4 hours, then furnace cooling or air cooling.
Normalizing annealing specification:
– Annealing temperature: 800–820°C, insulation for 3-4 hours, then slow cooling at ≤0°C/h to ≤600–650°C, followed by furnace cooling.
Isothermal annealing specification:
– Annealing temperature: 750–760°C, insulation for 8-10 hours, then slow cooling at 10–20°C/h to ≤650°C, followed by furnace cooling. Hardness: 207–235 HBW, good machinability can be obtained.
Normal quenching and tempering specification:
– Quenching temperature: 860–900°C, oil cooling, tempering temperature 250°C.
High-temperature quenching and tempering specification:
– Quenching temperature: 950°C, oil cooling, tempering temperature 250°C.
